The Code

Wild camping is a privilege, not a right. These five rules keep the spots open — for you and everyone after you.

  1. 1

    Leave no trace

No litter, no fire pits, no marks. The place looks the same when you leave — or better.

  2. 2

    Dispose properly

Grey and black water belong in service stations. Never in nature or drains.

  3. 3

    Respect residents

Quiet after 10 pm, no furniture fortress, short stays instead of permanent camping. You're a guest.

  4. 4

    Support the region

Buy at the bakery, eat at the village inn, use local services. That keeps communities welcoming.

  5. 5

    Know the rules

Laws differ by country and change. Check before you go — no-camping signs always apply.
